New recyclate film since February 2025

Since February 2025, we have been using a new, sustainable packaging solution across AXXUM: a high-quality polyethylene flat film with a recycled content of 50%. This innovation was developed in close cooperation with our long-standing partner - specifically to meet our requirements. Technically at the highest level, tested for water vapor permeability, tensile strength and weldability by the BFSV.

From idea to implementation - in record time

Launched at the beginning of 2024, development, including certification, was completed within just a few months. The first practical tests took place in fall 2024 together with our customer at the AXXUM Packaging Schleswig-Holstein site - with consistently positive results. The new film was then introduced at all relevant sites.

A strong lever for greener logistics

With an annual consumption of around 1.5 million m² of flat film - the equivalent of around 210 soccer pitches - we are making a significant contribution to reducing new plastic in the industry with the new solution.
