Heavy goods packaging for electric motors: safe transportation to South Africa
When industrial components weighing several tons are transported worldwide, the process begins with well thought-out preparation. In Papenburg, two large electric motors were packed for international shipment. The dimensions clearly show the challenge. The largest individual component was up to 14.60 meters long and 5.80 meters wide. It weighed 91.3 tons. The entire project reached a total weight of several hundred tons. The destination of the delivery was a gold mine in South Africa.
Customized packaging as the basis for safe transport
At the beginning, an individual packaging solution was developed. This was developed in close consultation with the customer. The aim was to provide optimum protection for each component. Specific guidelines were defined for this. Special lifting points and securing elements ensured stability during all transport phases.
Multi-stage preservation was a central component. Different materials were used in a targeted manner. These included film, aluminum foil, desiccant and shrink wrap. All components were precisely planned and coordinated.

Perfectly coordinated logistics processes
In addition to packaging, logistics also played a decisive role. Various means of transportation were combined. Crane, truck and barge worked together seamlessly. Every step was precisely coordinated.
Close cooperation with partners meant that loading could be carried out efficiently. The large components were optimally positioned in the transport system. The process was reminiscent of a precisely planned interaction in which every element has its fixed place.
Comprehensive project management for international transportation
The project shows how important the combination of planning, packaging and transportation is. Industrial plants not only have to be packed securely, but also moved reliably. This is precisely where professional heavy goods packaging comes in.
Companies benefit from a holistic approach. From initial planning to final delivery, all processes are interlinked. This means that even complex projects with extreme dimensions can be implemented safely.
Conclusion: Secure solutions for complex challenges
Transporting large industrial components requires experience, precision and coordinated processes. Tailor-made packaging, well thought-out preservation and coordinated logistics ensure that even systems weighing several tons reach their destination safely.
